Nikhil A. Kothari , Union College Class of 2010, has been named to the 2007-08 Dean's List. Kothari, a resident of Garden City, is a 2006 graduate of Garden City Senior High School. In order to be named to the dean's list at Union College, a student must have attended classes for the entire academic year and completed three courses during each of the three terms with no fewer than eight courses in the index. He or she must have maintained an overall index of 3.5 or greater.
John T. Kasnicki , son of Ted and Leslie Kasnicki, of Garden City, graduated Thursday, June 5th from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. John, who majored in economics with a minor in government, entered Harvard after graduating from Garden City High School in 2004. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree. He was one of 1,678 seniors who received their degrees at Harvard's 2008 commencement exercises.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has announced he names of the more than 2,000 students who were awarded undergraduate degrees at its 202 nd Commencement on Saturday, May 17. They represented the next generation of leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, patent holders and innovators, in fields ranging from engineering to architecture, from fine arts to science, and from business to the military. during the Institute's 202 nd commencement ceremony. Rensselaer awarded 662 master's degrees, 157 doctoral degree and 1,145 bachelor's degrees. Megan Marie Guy received a BS degree and majored in Management. She received Cum Laude honors. David R. Jendras received a BS degree and majored in Mechanical Engineering. Fairfield University, a comprehensive Jesuit University in Fairfield Connecticut that challenges its students to lead inspired lives of leadership and service, has announced the names of the students from this area who qualified for the dean's list for the spring 2008 semester. To be selected, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5, of a possible 4.0. Alyssa Wyremski , a resident of Garden City, N.Y. and daughter of Stan and Eileen Wyremski was named to the dean's list. Alyssa is majoring in Accounting at Fairfield University.
Peter Tomao, a resident of Garden City has accepted an offer of admission to be a first year student at American University. The fall semester begins Monday, August 25. Tomao is a graduate of Garden City High School. American University's entering Class of 2012 is the largest in university history, with approximately 1,550 first-year students projected to enroll in fall 2008. As a class, theses academically talented students average a 3.8 high school GPA and an SAT median range of 1210-1360.
Lauren Follo a student at Boston University School of Management has been placed on the Dean's List for spring 2008. Lauren will be a senior this fall. President's List Kevin C. Seiferth of Garden City has been named to the president's list at Western New England College for the spring semester of 2008. Seiferth is a senior studying management at the college. Students are named to the president's list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 of higher. Dean's List Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has announced the names of students from Garden City who made the Institute's dean's list for the spring 2008 semester. The dean's list recognizes full-time students who maintain grade-point averages of a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below "C". Matthew D. Dean's List Berklee College of Music recently announced that Blake Stranathan of Garden City has earned placement on the Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2008 academic year. To be eligible for the honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above. The Berklee curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today's music industry. Four-year degrees are offered in Performance, jazz Composition, Music, Production and Engineering, Film Scoring, Music, Business/Management, Composition, Music Synthesis, Contemporary Writing and Production, Music Education, songwriting, Music Therapy, and Professional Music.
