The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce that Marjorie P. Jean-Paul has been named Director of Development. Ms. Jean-Paul brings ten years of consulting experience focused on planning, management and major gift fundraising for a range of nonprofit organizations. Ms. Jean-Paul was introduced to the Waldorf School of Garden City, and Waldorf education, in 2004 when she helped conduct the School's first ever Capital Campaign as a member of the consulting team from Changing our World, Inc.

"We are excited to welcome Ms. Jean-Paul to the School. She joins us as the Waldorf School enters a new period of growth and influence in our Long Island community," said Susan Braun, the School Administrator. "Her development and philanthropy experience, coupled with her understanding of Waldorf education, are critical to our continuing efforts in promoting Waldorf education on Long Island and the New York metropolitan area in the 21st century."

In addition to her volunteer work on the Executive Committee of the American Friends Service Committee, Ms. Jean-Paul has also served as a member of the Haitian American Community Dialogue, a group which focuses on democracy and economic development in Haiti.

"I'm honored to join the Waldorf School at this exciting time in the School's history. Having worked on the Capital Campaign, it is inspiring to see that many of the proposed projects have already been completed, with the most visible transformation - the library renovation - taking place at this very moment!," said Ms. Jean-Paul. "I look forward to building on the 61 years of tradition, community, and excellence in education that are present here."
