Garden City Retired Men's Club Calendar Of Events

The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.

All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested to join us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022.

The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers 2 regulation size pool tables, television, cards/table Board games as well as outdoor Bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us!

First we have Althea Robinson, Executive Director of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce for Monday, September 15th at 1 p.m.

Then we follow with Kathleen Rice, Nassau County DA for Monday, October 20th at 1 p.m. A real sure fire all-star lineup. You certainly should not miss any part of this double header.

Let us hear from you -- September 18t h is the date for our second member/non-member birthday party. 10 of our members will celebrate his 80th birthday. Wanted - Poker and/or Pinochle Players

A majority of our new members seem interested in poker and/or pinochle. Perhaps we should make an attempt to set up a Tuesday afternoon of Chess, poker and pinochle. What do you think? Call Joe Leto at 248-9022 if this idea appeals to you.

It's not too late for a little Bocce and Outdoor Sports

The bocce and horseshoe courts are ready and waiting for some action. Get a partner and sign up. Sign-up sheet is at the Golf Club Lane Center. So, while the sun is shining and the courts are open...practice, practice, practice.
