This summer, Garden City Nursery School enjoyed the return of more than a dozen alumni who served as counselors for the young campers. Nearly all of the summer program staffers had attended Garden City Nursery School as three and four year olds. "It's lovely to watch these young men and women working so well with the children, knowing they were once the little ones here themselves," said GCNS director, Ann Amengual.

Stephanie Mach, who has returned for eleven straight summers to work at Garden City Nursery School, explained, "I really love coming back here. During the school year I work as a second grade teacher, and I find this summer program to be such a special and nurturing environment - it's very rewarding." All the alumni counselors agreed that it was gratifying to help create memories for a new generation, at the nursery school that held treasured memories for them.
