The Cardinals The Majors (11-12 year olds) National League Cardinals won the Garden City Little League Championship for an unbelievable second straight year. It was late on a Saturday night in June but everyone was wide awake for the awesome 3-1 victory.

All of the Cardinal parents would like to give a big thank you to head coach Bob O'Brien for coaching the boys for another great season. Bob is one of the best youth baseball coaches in Garden City. He has not only coached back-to-back two in-town championship seasons, he coached last years' District 29 11 year old team to a championship as well. Bob has been great with the kids and has taught them more than just baseball.

Veterans of both seasons (in photo in second row from left to right) Kevin Mercadante, Jack O'Brien, Kyle Skramko, Keith Danks, Evan Mitchell and Nick Loverde(not pictured) end their Little League careers in style and leave Coach Lori with a very strong base of returning players; Jack Lori, Thomas Rocco, Matthew Rodgers, Justin Samardich, Chris VanPraag, and Tom Vanwellendael...for next season and a run at a 3-peat.
