Troop 243 Goes To Washington, D.C.

Troop 243 visited Washington, D.C. in November of 2007, walking many miles and visiting great places of national and historical significance.
The first stop was the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing where the Scouts took a great tour of the place where "the money is made". They saw more cash in that one tour than they will probably see for the rest of their life.
The next stop was the most visited museum in America - the Smithsonian's famous U.S. Air and Space Museum. Here the Scouts saw just about everything one could see as it relates to the history of flight and the navigation of space. This museum is one everyone should visit.
The visit to the National Archive was phenomenal - just like in the movie National Treasure. The Scouts saw the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and other famous documents. There was even an exhibit on the Presidents - childhood, schools, families, even report cards.
The Scouts walked the mall from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial seeing everything there was in-between.

Before leaving D.C., the Scouts spent the last day at the Washington National Zoo - a true national treasure.
