Garden City Casino Men's Member-Guest Tournament

The Garden City Casino held its Annual Men's Member-Guest Tennis Tournament this weekend with a field of 15 teams competing throughout the day. The main draw Championship featured the young guns of Gerald DiChiara and his guest John Russo taking on the older Rocco D'Errico and his guest, Mark Andrade from Long Beach. The crowd of 30-plus were treated to a championship game that will go down as one of the most exciting and thrilling member-guest Championship finals in the Casino's recent history with DiChiara - Russo prevailing over D'Errico - Andrade, 6-2, 6-7 (8-6), 6-3.

In the Consolation Championship round Doug Dieterich and his guest Jim Malhame took on Lou Fasano and his guest Chris Colasante. The Dieterich - Malhame team defeated Fasano - Colasante 10-5 in a 10 game pre-set final. Thanks go to Jim Madelmayer who orchestrated this annual event again this year. Other members participating were: George Mamos, Bob Gavigan, Brent Stanathan, Dennis Russo, John Daley, Doug Ohngemach, Jim Madelmayer, Peter Galasso, Lou Pellicano, Steve Blicharski and Rich Antoneck.
