Take a trip to the land down under as you hop over the horizon and learn about Aussie life. During your visit to the other side of the globe, you can test your muscles with a kangaroo jump exercise, take a virtual swim with the fishes in the Great Barrier Reef, crawl inside a giant termite mound, spend time under the shade of a eucalyptus tree and visit the Sydney Opera House! Interactive video screens, hands-on activities and life-size models allow children to understand what it would be like to grow up in Australia.

This interactive exhibit is designed to introduce children to the geography, geology, biology, economy, architecture and natural wonders and climate of Australia. The exhibit answers the first questions children ask when thinking about other cultures - what is the same and what is different about this place?

Kangaroo Crossing was created by EdVenture Children's Museum, Columbia, South Carolina. Local exhibit support provided by Astoria Federal Savings.
