The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.

All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York area eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested to join us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022.

The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers 2 regulation size pool tables, television, cards/table Board games as well as outdoor Bocce, horsehoes and shuffleboard. Our Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us!

SPEAKER PROGRAM

Our speaker programwill take a much deserved rest during the month of August. Our next speaker is not scheduled to appear until Monday, September 15th. George Salem has scored again. He booked Althea Robinson, the Executive Director of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce. Althea is a dynamic speaker and there is very little she does not know about the business environment of Garden City. We can look forward to an interesting discussion on the afternoon of Monday, September 15th. Don't miss it!

COMING - ANOTHER BIG BIRTHDAY BASH

Yes, September 18th will be the date for our second member/ non member birthday party. There will be 9 of our members celebrating their 80th birthdays. We also invite any Garden City male resident who will celebrate his 80th birthday during 2008 to join us. Non member residents must call Joe Leto at 248-9022 for details.

It's time for a little Bocce and Outdoor Sports

The Bocce and Horseshoe courts are ready and waiting for some action. Get a partner and sign up for the Spring / Summer tournaments. Sign-up sheets have been posted at the Golf Club Lane Center. So, while the sun is shining and the courts are open ... practice, practice, practice.
