John Clarkson and Amanda Eckel Mr. and Mrs. William Eckel of Garden City are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda to John Clarkson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Clarkson of Blairstown, New Jersey. A September 2009 wedding is planned.

Mr. Clarkson is a 1998 graduate of North Warren High School in Blairstown, New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Rowan University in 2002. He is currently an Account Supervisor for an advertising agency in New York City.

Ms. Eckel is a 2000 graduate of Garden City High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2004. She is currently a Senior Project Manager for a medical education agency in New York City.
