The Garden City 11 year old baseball team won the Little League District 29 championship on Friday, July 11 by defeating New Hyde Park. The boys went undefeated in the tournament, also beating Garden City South and Franklin Square with a combination of superb pitching, outstanding hitting and clutch defense. The team, managed by Chris DeSantis along with coaches Paul Giacini and Pete Zeccola, now moves on to the New York State Section 4 Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, July 23 at Rath Park in Franklin Square.
