Matthew R. Pewarski, son of Mr. Glen T. Pewarski and Mrs. Annmarie Pewarski of Garden City, graduated Sunday, May 25 from Amherst College in Amherst, Mass.

Pewarski, who majored in economics and history, entered Amherst's College after graduating from Chaminade High School in Mineola. He receives a bachelor of arts Degree.

Pewarski was one of 445 seniors who received their degrees at Amherst's commencement exercises.

The following Garden City residents completed requirements for bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College on May 18.

Sacred Heart University is pleased to announce its graduates of the Class of 2008. The University's 42 nd Commencement took place May 17 & 18. The University bestowed a total of 1,465 degrees this year, including 23 Doctor of Physical therapy degrees, 422 master's degrees, 937 bachelor's degrees, 29 associates degrees and 54 professional certificates.

Local residents who received degrees include: Jennifer Sullivan of Garden City, who received a Bachelor of Science.

Student Earns Honor

Adam C. Cox, of Garden City, a member of the Class of 2009, has received Faculty Honors at Trinity College for the 2008 spring semester. To earn this honor, a student must have achieved a grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B- minus.
