Ms. Megan E. Hyland received the B.S.C. degree on Thursday, June 5 from Washington and Lee University.
Commencement ceremonies for more than 435 Washington and Lee students were held on the university's historic Front Lawn.
Hyland majored in Business Administration. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Hyland of Garden City.
More than 1,200 Lehigh University students were awarded bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees during 140 th Spring Commencement ceremonies at Goodman Stadium in Bethlehem, Pa.
Local graduates included Garden City residents.
Christine Fischer, who received a bachelor of arts in political science and economics; and Kathryn Kadamus , who received a bachelor of science in psychology.

Iona College has recently named Marissa Hope Wilson to its Dean's List in recognition of Superior Academic Performance during the past school year. Marissa is a member of the Class of 2011 and is currently majoring in Psychology. She successfully completed her freshman year with a grade point average of 3.9.
The University of Scranton conferred 1,561 degrees at two commencement ceremonies in May, representing the largest graduating class in the 120-year history of the Jesuit school.
Among the graduates was Garden City resident Katherine E. LaRousse , who received a bachelor of science degree in counseling and human services.
Boston University awarded academic degrees to 5,760 students in May. Among the graduates was Alexander W. Zayas of Garden City, who received a bachelor of science in business administration in Business Administration and Management.
Vassar College's 144th Commencement was held on Sunday, May 25. Bachelor of Arts degrees were conferred upon 638 seniors. Graduates included: Marcella Francesca Veneziale of Garden City. She is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Cosmo Veneziale.
