In Memorium

Daniel Fennessy, a lifelong Garden City resident, died surrounded by family, on Sunday July 13, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. Danny was the loving husband of Suzanna (Scarola) and beloved son of Michael and Kathleen Fennessy. He was the youngest of 10 children, brother of Cathleen (ShawnWhelan), Michael (Martha) the late James (Sharon), Marie (Wendorff), Deirdre (James Regan), Patrick (Lesley) Julianne (Ted Shirley), John (Michelle), Eileen (Marc Weller). Danny was an uncle to 28 adoring nieces and nephews and the fond son-in-law to Leonard and Susan Scarola and brother in law to Leonard.

He graduated from Garden City High School in 1995, and in 1999 from Salve Regina University. Danny had a great passion for horses and became a successful trainer of thoroughbreds in Ocala, Florida.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Joseph's Church on Thursday July 17, 2008 followed by burial at Holy Rood Cemetery.

During the course of his illness, Danny and his wife, Suzanna, established "12/31", a foundation to aid single parents diagnosed with cancer. Memorial donations to this foundation to help keep Daniel's memory alive can be sent to: 34 Vassar St., Garden City, NY 11530
