The Garden City Library's Summer Reading Program for children is underway with the Summer Reading Club, arts and crafts programs, story times, book discussions, and Wednesday Family Nights. The second of five arts and crafts programs was held on Tuesday, July 8th. The children painted ceramics with Rosemarie Attard. The 21/2 to 5 year olds painted ceramic piggy banks with the help of their parents and caregivers. Children in kindergarten through second Grade painted ceramic frogs. Third through fifth graders painted ceramic butterflies. Additional dates for craft programs are Tuesdays, July 15th, 22nd, and 29th. Funding for these programs has been provided by the Friends of The Garden City Public Library. Priority for registration and participation in the programs is given to children who are Garden City Library cardholders.
