GC Resident Wins Research Award
Adelphi University congratulates School of Business Professor Jiang Zhang, one of twelve recipients of the Bender Research Fellowship Award for Best Paper this year. Dr. Zhang received $1,500 in recognition of co-authoring "Fill Rate of Single-Stage General Periodic Review Inventory Systems," in Operations Research Letters, Vol. 35, No. 4, 2007.
The Bender Research Fellowship Awards were established in 2004 and are funded through an endowment in the name of former Dean James Bender, who founded the Adelphi University School of Business in 1964. The Best Paper Award is granted to a faculty member whose academic efforts contribute to the advancement of research in the field.
Dr. Zhang of Garden City, who began teaching at Adelphi University in 2004, is a professor at the School of Business in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Decision Sciences. His research interests include operations management, supply chain contract and optimization, interface of operations and finance, stochastic optimization, and the impact of RFID on inventory systems.
Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in operations research and management from Case Western Reserve University. He received his B.E. in industrial management engineering from Xidian University, China.
