Connie McKnight, our resident yoda instructor, will continue to run her classes during the summer. The classes will run for seven weeks at a cost of $35. Your choice of days and times are:

GAZEBO CONCERTS ANNOUNCED
Garden City Recreation happily announces the start of our summer Gazebo concert series on Thursday, June 26th. Our concerts are held at the Gazebo on the corner of Hilton and Stewart Avenues at 7:15 p.m. every Thursday during the summer and are free to all attending.
In the event of foul weather, the concert is still held but moved indoors to St. Paul's Cluett Hall at 295 Stewart Avenue.
The concerts for this summer are as follows:

Our department has again secured tickets on consignment for several amusement parks in our area. The parks and ticket prices are as fllows:

There is no difference in price for adults or children. These prices reflect a discount on the "walk up" admission. PRESCHOOL CAMP
Our Preschool Camp is a fun way for children ages 3.5 to 5 years old who are resident of the Village of Garden City to spend the summer. Children who attend this camp must be 3.5 years by the start of their session and proof of age is required. Arts and Crafts, music, nature, and stories will fill the 1 1/2 hour class. This class will be held in St. Paul's Cluett Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will be taught by Patricia Haas Leonenko, preschool teacher at St. Joseph's School. The cost of a one week session will be $75.

Session 4: July 28 -August 1

YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP
The Recreation Department will be conducting a Basketball Camp for boys and girls who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City and entering 2ne through 6th grades in September, 2008. Come join us and learn what it takes to pass, dribble, and shoot in this camp. This camp will be held in St. Paul's field house the week of June 30 according to the following schedule:
Entering 2nd and 3rd grades: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Entering 4-6 grades: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fee for this camp will be $75.

BOYS AND GIRLS LACROSSE CAMP
This camp is for children entering 2nd through 6th grades in September, 2008 who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. It is a basic camp that will teach the techniques of catching, throwing and shooting through fun drills. The children will also learn the rules of the games through scrimmaging. Our camp will be held at Stewart Field from 9:30 a.m. to noon the week of July 7th and the week of July 14th (Monday through Thursday). The cost of this four day camp will be $85.

The Recreation Department is holding a baseball camp for 9-12 year olds at Community Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the weeks of July 21st and July 28th. Each week of the camp is four days and the cost to attend is $75. Please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue for further info or to register.

YOUTH SOCCER CAMP
The Recreation Department's Soccer Camp will be
held at Community Park instead of St. Paul's. Please visit

TENNIS CAMPS FOR AGES 4 - 18
The Recreation Department's Tennis Camp program offers children aged seven and up who are residents of the Incorporated Village of Garden City an opportunity to learn or advance their tennis skills while working with experienced tennis pros in a fun setting. Our camps are set by age and children will be grouped according to ability within their camp. The age of the child at the start of the session will determine which session the child may attend and proof of age may be required. All camps will be held at the Community Park Tennis Facility. Please read the information below to determine which camp your child is eligible to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: EACH CHILD MAY SIGN UP FOR A MAXIMUM OF TWO SESSIONS

PEE WEE TENNIS - for ages 4 and 5. Skill are learned by fun and easy to do drills taught by our tennis professionals.

NOVICE CAMP - For ages 6 and 7. This camp will teach serving, rallying, and the basics of a tennis game, keeping it fun for the younger tennis set.
Time: 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $ 75
JUNIOR CAMP - For ages 8 - 11. For all levels of experience, this 2 1/4 hour camp will group players by ability so that everyone can move to the next level.
Time: 10 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Cost: $90
JUNIOR CAMP PLUS - For the child aged 8 - 11 that is looking for a full day of tennis. This camp will tennis instruction in the morning, followed by lunch time and a special activity, then ending the day with tennis matches. Children must bring their lunch to this camp.
Time: 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $200
SENIOR CAMP - For the student, ages 12 to 18, who is either looking to learn to play tennis or would like to get better at the game.
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $90
