Librarians Visit Schools To Announce Reading Club

The children's librarians from The Garden City Public Library visited Garden City schools to announce the start of the Summer Reading Club. This year's theme is "Catch the Reading Bug". During their visits, the librarians described the Summer Reading Club and all the activities that will take place at the Library this summer. In addition, they read stories about insects to the kindergartners and first graders at Hemlock, Locust, and Homestead schools. At Stratford and Stewart schools, the librarians performed a skit with the help of some of the students.
Devon Gallagher, children's librarian at the Garden City Public Library, is pictured visiting a class at Homestead School. She announced this year's theme for the Summer Reading Club -- "Catch the Reading Club".
