A Word From The Publisher
Congratulations to the Class of 2008 on their many accomplishments. Garden City High School's graduation ceremonies will be held on Warren King Field (weather permitting) on Sunday, June 29, at 4 p.m. Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, a Garden City High School graduate, will be the keynote speaker.
Garden City High School's traditional graduation ceremonies are always very elegant, with the girls in white dresses and the boys in white jackets. We're sure it will be lovely again.
If it takes a village to raise a child, then graduation is a special time of year for the entire community, when all our efforts come to fruition. Good luck, grads!

Last week we editorialized about the dangers of alcohol use especially at this vulnerable time of year. We won't belabor the point (although we note there have been terrible incidents in other communities this week).
To steal a line from Sgt. Phil Esterhaus from the old Hill Street Blues television show: "Let's be careful out there."
Early Deadline
