Garden City High School Valedictorian Colin G. Quinn. The Garden City High School Class of 2008 will graduate Sunday, June 29, at 4 p.m. Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, a Garden City High School graduate, will be the keynote speaker. The ceremony will be held at Warren King Field.

The Valedictorian is Colin G. Quinn. Among Mr. Quinn's most recent honors are the American Legion Scholastic Award for Excellence in Social Studies, the Jim Grant Memorial Scholarship, the Margaret McNally Award for Mathematics, and the Thomas D. Miner Award in Advanced Placement Physics. Mr. Quinn's un-weighted grade point average is 98.43.

Mr. Quinn has been a member of the varsity swim team since 8th grade. In 2007, he received All-County honors for placing 3rd and 2nd in separate swimming events. For the last two summers he has put his swimming skills to work as a Town of Hempstead lifeguard. As a junior, he was principal trombonist in the Garden City High School Jazz Ensemble.

The Salutatorian is Olivia Lucas. Ms. Lucas' most recent honors include the NYS Comptroller's Achievement Award and the French Department Award. Her un-weighted grade point average is 97.67.

"From her athletic endeavors as a Varsity swimmer and her numerous awards and achievements in the classroom to her altruistic endeavors both at school and in the community, Olivia makes the most of each and every moment of her day. She represents achievement at the highest level and represents this community in all the right ways."
