Waldorf's Early Childhood Program Families Kicks-Off Summer
Nursery student Joseph Gaeta.
The Waldorf School of Garden City's ten preschool teachers performed a silk marionette puppet play entitled Briar Rose for approximately 75 preschool children as well as their parents, relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 11. The presentation was followed by class picnics - a joyful ending to the school year.
Amid Waldorf's enlivening and nurturing environment, children develop wonder, attention, imagination, and practical skills through imaginative and purposeful activities such as singing, cooking, gardening, movement, painting, handwork, and learning a foreign language. The early childhood program lays the social, emotional and intellectual groundwork that leads to personal independence, love of learning and academic success.
Chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), the Waldorf School of Garden City is located adjacent to Adelphi University on Cambridge Avenue. Selective openings in the early childhood program are still available. For more information about the school, please call (516) 742-3434 ext. 129 or visit www.waldorfgarden.org.
Preschool parents, relatives and friends at the Waldorf School of Garden City attended a puppet show given by the preschool faculty with their children on Wednesday, June 11. Following the puppet show, each preschool class held their own picnic on their respective playgrounds.
