REFLEXOLOGY

Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 7-8:30pm

The scientific art of applying pressure to the soles of the feet and palms of the hand can stimulate acupressure reflex points that correspond to every organ in the body. It is non-invasive with a focus on restoring balance, increasing circulation and reducing stress. Participants will experience this relaxation first hand.

Carolyn McGuire, RN, BS, is an ARCB Certified Reflexologist for the past 7 years and a Reiki Master. She holds Reiki healing circles monthly at Tabor Retreat Center, Oceanside and also holds individual private sessions.

TAI CHI

Thursday, August 7, 2008 7-8:30pm

The body moves very slowly in a dance-like form. This concentration on movement creates calmness for the mind and body, relieving anxiety, developing better muscle control and improving balance and posture. With roots in Ancient China, Tai Chi movements are flexible and allow each person to perform at their own ability. Studies have shown Tai Chi helps strengthen the immune system and lowers heart rate and blood pressure.

Dorothy Scott, instructor and practitioner, teaches Tai Chi at Clark Botanical Gardens in Albertson. She has developed a style consistent with the Wu Style of Tai Chi.

Comfortable clothing and shoes are suggested.
