In the large nine (9) team division, Garden City had the toughest schedule playing all of the top teams in the division and defeated powerful Rockville Centre's top team, cream of the crop Suffolk County teams from Dix Hills and Terryville, and a team from The Jigs Soccer Academy. In their five 44 minute games played on Saturday and Sunday, Garden City impressively outscored their opponents 14-6 with all team players rotating in goal. Megan Seel scored 5 goals and had 1 assist, Emma Wieland scored 2 goals and had 3 assists, Taylor Gladd scored 4 goals and had 2 assists, Katherine Farrell had two goals, and Eileen Farrell scored on a redirection of a corner kick by Katherine Farrell. Notably, defenders/midfielders Marlee Rich, Gabriella Rogers and Danielle Larsson played outstanding defense and rarely permitted GC's opponents to take any quality shots on goal, and forwards Emily Clarke and Caroline Kaczynski carried the ball up the wings and put steady pressure on GC's opponents' defenses.
