On June 5, the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead awarded its annual scholarship award to Justine Hami of Manhasset. This scholarship is given to a college student who is pursuing their undergraduate college degree with the goal of entering the medical field in post-graduate studies.

This is the fourth year that Justine has been given the college scholarship award. She attends Cornell University and has an excellent academic record, while being active in other aspects of college life. She is involved in sports, was president of her Sorority this year and was active in a program that provides corrective glasses for persons in undeveloped countries. Justine plans to pursue a career as an opthamologist and hopes to earn her doctorate in a New York City graduate school

The Community Club offers a variety of programs, classes in the fine arts and trips from September thru June. For information about joining, call club secretary Willa Ward at 746-0488 between 9:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. Tuesday thru Thursday. The club office is closed during the month of July.
