Resident Elected To Girl Scouts Board
Leslie Segrete, Member-at-Large of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc.
All Leslie Segrete's hard work and dedication to the community has paid off! Ms. Segrete, a resident of Garden City, was elected as Member-at-Large of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. The election took place during the 43rd Annual Meeting held at Hofstra University Student Center Theatre on May 7th. Ms. Segrete joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership and fresh and creative direction to the Council.
"We are so pleased that Leslie will be serving on our Board," said Sandra Echols Williams, President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors." Leslie will surely bring many positive attributes to our Board."
Ms. Segrete is a home improvement expert with an eye for design and the skills to get the job done. Ms. Segrete's home improvement skills are highlighted on radio, television and in print. She co-hosts The Money Pit, a nationally syndicated home improvement radio program heard on more than 237 radio stations around the nation. Since October 2007, she has been an editor at large for Country Home Magazine, creating their popular Shop Girl monthly feature.
A self-proclaimed renaissance woman, Ms. Segrete has shared her talents with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County helping girls earn badges, learn new skills and get creative. She helped 100 girls earn their Sew Simple badge, making pillows for themselves and "cage comforters" for the many animals at the New York Center for Animal Care and Control. In 2007 Ms. Segrete received the Juliette Low Award of Distinction from Girl Scouts of Nassau County.
