-LI (NEDA-LI) (formerly EDCLI) will be holding a support group for eating disorder sufferers and their families and friends, on Saturday June 21,10 to 11:30 a.m. at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset ( the main reception desk person will tell location within the hospital). This free group takes place on the third Saturday of every month and is facilitated by a trained professional. No reservation necessary. Call NEDA-LI 229-2393... Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

On June 17 , a 1994 white Jeep, and a 1994 green Jeep Cherokee, were stolen from the Nassau Blvd. RR station in the afternoon... On June 10 , police arrested a 50-year-old Manorhaven man for allegedly taking $326 in items: shoes, fragrances, and a man's watch, at Sears... Between June 9 and 10, someone took headphones from a GMC parked in a Brixton Rd. driveway after breaking a $200 window of the car...During the same time, the rear window to an Acura was found broken. $200 damage... Police are investigating a robbery where the 20-year-old GC male victim claimed he was allegedly robbed of a wallet containing $20, at 2:45 AM on June 14. The items were found a short distance from the scene later on. The alleged thief was wearing a black bandana and carrying a hand gun...

Fire Responses:

An odor in a Chestnut Street area was traced to coffee roasting at 3 Commercial Avenue on June 12... A power line came down at Greenridge Avenue on the same day... Papers were mysteriously ignited near the gazebo at Hubbell Plaza on Friday the 13th. The police had extinguished the fire prior to FD arrival... A Ninth Street homeowner accidentally locked herself out of her house on June 14. FD used an extension ladder to reach a window for entry... A tree came down at Fairmount Blvd. on the same day... Lightning struck a Meadow Street that day too. No fire... A Brook Street resident overcooked food on June 15 and natural ventilation removed smoke there... On June 17 , a brush fire was extinguished with a booster at the RR tracks on Franklin Avenue...That's all this week. G. T.
