Live STRONG Day At Garden City Middle School

Middle School Teachers Constance Beovich and Beth Cleary with Mrs. Cleary's class, who are wearing yellow to show support for LiveSTRONG day.
Students and faculty at Garden City Middle School participated in the Lance Armstrong Foundation's fifth annual LiveSTRONG cancer awareness day on May and raised $416 to donate to the Foundation. Students sold LiveSTRONG armbands during the week, and many students wore the armbands or the color yellow to show support. Faculty and staff also organized a "dress down" Friday as part of the event, and cancer survivorship journals were distributed.

Lance Armstrong, a seven-time winner of the famous Tour de France bicycle competition, started the Foundation after his own bout with cancer. The Foundation promotes awareness of cancer issues and support for cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones.
