Garden City Retired Men's Club Calendar Of Events

The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.

All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested to join us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022.

The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers 2 regulation size pool tables, television, card/tables, board games as well as outdoor Bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us!

Join us for our next pizza party, Thursday June 26 that 12:30 p.m. ($6 + $2 for Lucky Bucks). Drinks are on the house . Spend a pleasant afternoon with your fellow retirees.

Speaker Program

George Salem has done it again. First, we will have Jack Griffin, a lifetime member of The Baseball Writers of America, speak on famous baseball stars such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, etc. for Monday June 23 rd at 1 p.m. Then he follows with John Ellis Kordes for Monday July 21 st, who will speak on "Life and times of A.T. Stewart and the founding of Garden City", 1 p.m. is the time

Save The Date

Are you ready for the big time?? We're getting close to a final plan for our annual Sunday afternoon co-ed party. Sunday, July 20 th is the date, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. is the time and $27.50 per person ($55.00 per couple) will be the price with a reservation. It will cost $60.00 per couple at the door!! The next trip will be Monday, June 23rd . Call Ed Palkot at 437-0397 to reserve your spot. It's never too early to sign up. Non-member residents of Garden City are invited.

It's Time For a Little Bocce and Outdoor Sports!

The bocce and horseshoe courts are ready and waiting for some action. Get a partner and sign up for the spring/summer tournaments. Sign-up sheets have been posted at the Golf Club Lane Center. So while the sun is shining and the courts are open ... practice, practice, practice.
