Homestead First-Graders Visit High School for Italian Lesson
First-graders in Christine Oppedisano and Michelle Abatemarco's classes at Homestead School began their basic Italian studies this spring with help from sophomores in Lea Brunetti's honors Italian class at Garden City High School. Signora Brunetti's students created picture books and basic vocabulary sheets especially for the event held in the High School library. They also passed out baked goods for their younger counterparts to enjoy. As the first-graders left the library, many could be heard practicing their newly acquired Italian vocabulary words.
