Senator Kemp Hannon (R-6th S.D.) recently congratulated Renee DeLorenzo as the winner from Island Trees Midddle School of Senator Hannon's 2008 "There Ought To Be A Law" contest. The annual program honors the ideas for New York State legislation, as conceived by local students. Renee's winning entry proposed the introduction of choices in topics on the New York State E.L.A. test. She said, "We would then have a choice in the stories we want to read, but we would still read five stories."
