Guest speaker, Scott Rechler, CEO and chairman of RexCorp and principal on the Lighthouse Development Group, offer's an overview of the project.
At the Garden City Chamber's season final luncheon on May 14, some 150 members and interested guests heard Scott Rechler, CEO and Chairman of RexCorp and a principal of the Lighthouse Development Group, present an overview of the proposed "Lighthouse at Long Island." A joint venture between Charles Wany, founder, and RexCorp Realty, LLC, the project is to include the transformation of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum site as its centerpiece: a state-of-the-art arena for the New York Islanders and New York Dragons as well as a $2 billion, 150-acre Lighthouse planned development district. According to Rechler, the project will reflect the highest levels of "smart growth" planning.
