JP Burnside, Garden City High School freshman, has been selected to advance to the USA Hockey National Player Development Camp representing the New York District for U-15 hockey players from August 2-8 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Each summer USA Hockey conducts select player camps for athletes throughout the country. The athletes are chosen from a series of try-outs within their USA Hockey District. During the camp, players are evaluated by the National scouting program, college & junior recruiters and professional scouts.

JP has been playing ice hockey as a defenseman in the TIER I AAA Program for the last 8 years. He finished his Bantam Major season with the Long Island Royals in March and will start his Midget Major season with the Long Island Gulls playing U-16 in the fall. JP also plays JV Lacrosse at the Garden City High School.
