Brian Colamussi on the attack The Garden City Maroon 5th Grade boys lacrosse team beat 3 Village 11-7 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Maroon team set the tone early based on the play of midfielders Brian Colamussi, Tim Dolan, Jack Tigh, Thomas Wright, Brogan Mahon, Will Glenn and Kyle Bratton. Garden City started out with the lead and never relinquished. Ground balls wins games but some unselfish play really made the difference. As the Maroon team was preparing to take the field the team was in need of a goalie. Nick Mourikas volunteered and the Maroon team was rewarded with an MVP type of performance. The attack put on a show of ball control in the 2nd half as Kieran McGoldrick, Chris Moscatiello, Ryan McCartney, Pat Gibbons, Brian Shannon and Thomas "Eddy" Mulligan work the ball around and put the game out of reach for 3 Village. The defense led by Carson Bauer, Brendan Digan and Peter Kelly were able to shut down the potent 3 Village offensive machine.

The Maroon Team looks forward to finish the season undefeated and will take on Northport at the PAL festival next Sunday.
