Girls 3rd Grade Gray Lacrosse Team Beats Rockville Centre

2008-06-06 / Sports

The girls beat Rockville Centre 9-4 with the combination of great defense and excellent open field passing and catching. Alexis pagonis played goalie in the first half and had 2 good saves. The defense in front of her picked up many ground balls and displayed tough double teams. The group of Caroline Munn, Mairead Pfaff, Catherine Maher, and Maggie Minett played defense all day and never let up. Maggie and Caroline had many key ground ball pick ups. The midfield play of Katherine Galzerano, Kathleen Griffith, Claire Gallic, Megan Seel, Emily Clarke, and Amanda Stober tirelessly ran the up and down the field dominating possession. The homes (attack) of Colleen Adams, Marlee Rich, Kelley Scott, Dominique Dragotto, and Caroline Cudahy did a great job completing passes during the good sportsmanship periods which set up goals for the midfielders. The scoring this week was unusually in that four players had most of the goals and assists. This was no refection on how unselfishly the girls played but a credit to the exceptional play by these four girls. Claire Gallic had five of the nine goals and also recorded two assists!! Katherine Galzerano had three goals and an assist. Marlee rich had a goal a two assists and played her best of the year. Megan Seel recorded three assists. Special thanks to Kathleen Griffith who volunteered to play goalie in the second half and had 2 saves. The girls play their last game this Saturday.
