Patriettes Take On Massapequa
      The U11 Patriettes and their parents drove to Massapequa Saturday in the pouring rain wondering if their scheduled game would be played and what the condition of the field would be. The rain stopped and the sky cleared in time for the Patriettes to take on the Breakers in a battle for 3rd place. Right from the start of the 1st half, the game was controlled by the Patriettes.

Girls 3rd Grade Gray Lacrosse Team Beats Rockville Centre
      The girls beat Rockville Centre 9-4 with the combination of great defense and excellent open field passing and catching. Alexis pagonis played goalie in the first half and had 2 good saves. The defense in front of her picked up many ground balls and displayed tough double teams.

Another Tie For Power
     Garden City Power (Girls U11) played another hard fought battle which ended in a tie. In their last game, they came back from a 3-1 deficit to end in a 3-3 tie with the Bayside All Starz and this past Saturday, after an exciting defensive game, they ended in a 0-0 tie with Oyster Bay Endurance. Keep up the great work girls....a "W" is just around the corner!

      Two Garden City teams played each other on June 1st at St. Paul's in a match play format with both teams being equally divided between two teams - Sweet-Molitor-Griffith versus Pfail-Callahan-Griffith-Joyce. Top Coach Goalies Rob Griffith, Brooks Sweet, and Mark Molitor shared the goaltending duties.

Rams 5th Grade Maroon Team Beats 3 Village 11-7!
      The Garden City Maroon 5th Grade boys lacrosse team beat 3 Village 11-7 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Maroon team set the tone early based on the play of midfielders Brian Colamussi, Tim Dolan, Jack Tigh, Thomas Wright, Brogan Mahon, Will Glenn and Kyle Bratton. Garden City started out with the lead and never relinquished.

Cyclones Complete Spring Season
      The 2008 Cyclones U11 Baseball team completed the spring season in the NT Baseball League, playing double headers every Sunday. Strong defense, excellent pitching and clutch hitting powered the Cyclones to a 11-3 record. The team was led by manager Tom Granville and coaches John Dehler and Marty Waters.

Daredevils (U13) Victorious Against Farmingdale
      It was Sunday, June 1, and the Daredevils had a long time opponent, the Farmingdale Force, coming to town. Knowing the game would be a tough Division 1 contest, played with one sub on the first hot day of the spring, the girls gathered the focus to play efficient, determined, smart soccer.

GC Maroon 7th Grade Girls Lacrosse End Season
      The GC Maroon 7th grade girl's lacrosse team concluded another successful season this past Sunday on a beautiful afternoon on the turf at the GC HS field. The opposition was local rival RVC Blue team, who had also played well this year as the last regular season game approached.

County Champs Girls Varsity Track
      The girl's varsity track team brought home the Class AA County Championship to Garden City for the fourth consecutive track and field season. This year's meet was run over two days at Westbury High School and featured the best runners and field event competitors in Nassau County.

Boys Lacrosse Win Against Plainedge
      The Nassau County boys lacrosse Class B semi final game was played on Friday evening May 30th at Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium between the Garden City Trojans and the Plainedge Red Devils. No. 7 Plainedge, coming off an upset over No. 2 Lynbrook, was making it's first appearance in the semi finals but Garden City easily controlled the game and came away with an 8-3 victory.

Old Man (Over 40) Lacrosse
      Haven't picked up a stick in 20 years? Join the club. Feel you are too old for this type of thing? You're probably right. In any event, we are currently fielding a RECREATIONAL team for Thursday night summer league. Hoping to increase number of GC residents on roster. Season starts in July and there are 8 regular season games plus playoffs. Games are generally at 8 or 9pm.

      JP Burnside, Garden City High School freshman, has been selected to advance to the USA Hockey National Player Development Camp representing the New York District for U-15 hockey players from August 2-8 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Each summer USA Hockey conducts select player camps for athletes throughout the country.

      The seventh grade Grey Lady Rams lacrosse squad continued their strong play this past Sunday with a hard-fought 14-4 victory over homestanding Wantagh. Despite playing with only two substitutes, the Lady Rams controlled play from the outset and benefited from a very strong defensive effort.

GC Girls Lax Win Nassau Class B Title
      On Sunday, June 8th the girls varsity lacrosse team of Garden City will head to Stony Brook to defend its Long Island Class B title. On their way to the title, the girls easily beat Wantagh 23-8 on Wednesday afternoon June 4th at Hofstra to claim the Nassau County Class B championship. This was the team's 4th consecutive county championship.

St. Anne's Spirit Walk
      On April 24 the annual Saint Anne's School Spirit Walk took place amid absolutely gorgeous weather. Just as gorgeous were the smiles of the students as they took laps around the block wearing the Spirit Walk T-Shirt. This year's T-Shirt was designed by eighth grader, Jaqueline Hausner. The Walk is the major fund-raiser for the school.

Xtreme Shoot Down Rockets
      Playing on the magnificent fields at Harbor Links in Port Washington, the GU-11 Xtreme beat the Albertson Rockets 2-0 last Saturday morning. The Xtreme played brilliant soccer throughout the match, keeping the Rockets under constant pressure. The team broke through in the second half, netting two goals.
