Trying for a Bullseye!
Trying for a Bullseye! Twenty-seven Scouts from Pack 55 camped at Schiff Reservation at Wading River, Long Island in May. The third and fourth graders and their parents were challenged by one night of rain in a tent, but were treated to a sunny Saturday to enjoy the great outdoors. The Scouts worked hard pitching tents and cooking over an open fire, but their favorite activity was toasting marshmallows by the campfire each night for delicious s'mores.

During the day the boys explored the reservation, learning scout skills presented by Boy Scouts. Webelos learned fire building, lashing and knots, tent building, and participated in teamwork games. After hiking all day the scouts enjoyed the council campfire and presented skits and songs as the night's entertainment. The boys were thrilled to camp out for the weekend, and returned home to Garden City with newfound outdoor skills.

Boys from first through fifth grade (in September) can join Cub Scouts. Dens are forming now.
