Summer Enrichment

Registration Begins

Registration packets were mailed or sent home with students on May 1 st. Now is the time to register your child for the summer enrichment program. As in the last two years, the summer enrichment program will be held at Homestead School for Pre-K and K students and at Stratford School for grades one through five. Students may sign-up for programs where they can enjoy cooking, rocketry, sports and arts arts and crafts.

Middle School Summer Enrichment Program

Mail-in registration has begun for Middle School students wishing to attend the Summer Enrichment Program. Two courses are being offered this summer - Writers' Workshop and Computers. students may choose to attend for one week, two weeks, three weeks or all four weeks. Each class is ninety minutes. One class starts at 9 a.m. and the other at 10:30 a.m. The program will be held at the stratford School Library.

Students in the Middle School are also eligible to be Volunteer Aides. Volunteer forms are available in the Guidance Office. Students may choose to take a course for one period while volunteering for the other.

High School Summer

Enrichment Program

Registration has begun for high school students to attend this year's Summer Enrichment Program - Writers' Workshop. this enrichment course will focus on persuasive writing while also giving students an opportunity to do some creative writing. Students will have an opportunity to move through the writing process with consistent feedback from the instructor. This course will provide excellent preparation for the new SAT. Students may choose to attend for one week, two weeks, three weeks or all four weeks. The recommendation would be to attend all four weeks to receive the optimum benefit. This course will be held in the Stratford School Library.

Summer Enrichment

Mandarin Chinese Program

The Garden City summer Enrichment will be offering Mandarin Chinese for Middle School students this summer. Students will learn useful vocabulary and a variety of key phrases. Participants will discover the Chinese language through exciting hands-on activities, which will include arts and crafts, music, games and food. There are two sessions of the two-week course. July 7-18 or July 21-31. Registration forms are available in the Middle School Guidance Office.
