Photo by Newsphoto.com There are 12 Garden City residents who are part of the boys varsity lacrosse team at Chaminade High School and they have been enjoying a successful season as the Flyers currently own a 12-4 record. On April 19th Chaminade traveled to Manhasset to participate in "Lead the Way, A Lacrosse Day of Champions". It was a day that honored Army Ranger James Regan, a Chaminade graduate who was killed while serving in Iraq. The Flyers beat Manhasset 11-5. Their only league loss came against rival St Anthony's on May 13th in Huntington. Representing Garden City on the team are: Phil Thornton, Mike Pratt, Steve Chmil, Kevin McGowan, Charlie O'Leary, Alex Fox, Anthony Pontosky, Brett Wishart, Reed Kern, Rob Mulligan, Brian Mullin, and Nolan Hickey.
