Third Grade Grey Lacrosse Wins Another Game!
The third grade girls had another fantastic win and as predicted, faced their toughest competition against Manhasset. The girls continue to improve game after game and both the offense and the defense was the best yet.
Claire Gallic led off with the first goal of the game and the action was on! Celia Concannon won virtually every face off which helped the team to dominate throughout the majority of the game. Along with Hannah Ardito, Kathleen Griffith and Catherine Maher the attack team was solid throughout.
The midfield of Megan Seel, Marlee Rich, Dominique Dragotto, Keeley Scott, Collen Adams and Maggie Minetta were fantastic and had many recoveries to drive up the field. This group of girls can fly up the field!
The Manhasset team was a very formidable opponent and the strong defense of Caroline Munn, Kelly George, Mairead Pfaff and Caroline Cudahy drove the ball back to the Manhassset goal each time. Alexis Pagonis as the first half goalie, was phenomenal, fending off several shots-and with a broken finger!
The game moved at a very fast pace with additional goals scored by Emily Clarke, two by Celia Concannon and two by Megan Seel. By half time the score was 6-0.
In the second half, Hannah Ardito took up the post as goalie and had several saves while the offense continued to drive at the Manhasset goal. The team really showed their skills in passing and defense which resulted in sheer domination. A late game goal by Manhasset made the score 6-1. A third GC goal by Megan Seel and a final goal by Claire Gallic made the final score 7-1.
Thank you to those who came out to cheer the girls on last week. Many of the girls moved positions over the course of the game showing their strength and versatility. It was a fantastic game and we made it off the turf just when the weather broke!
