G.C. History Class Visits Cathedral
The Cathedral of the Incarnation was recently the scene of the conclusion of a five week course on Garden City history. The course, taught by Village Historian John Ellis Kordes, was held at the high school for two hours on Monday nights. However, Kordes arranged for the last class to be held in "the most historic building in the Village."The Cathedral, completed in 1885, had all of its lights on for the class which included a tour of the infamous crypt where Cornelia Stewart is buried and perhaps her husband A.T. Stewart. Why "perhaps"? Take the course and find out. It will be offered again this fall by Garden City Public School adult education.Photo by John Ellis Kordes
