Joanna Ryder a 2006 Garden City High School alumnus was recently awarded The Clara Bartlett Dean Scholarship by the Adelphi University Department of History as an outstanding Junior history student. Joanna is a History/Education major in the Adelphi University Honors College (STEP) program. The Scholars Teacher Education Program (STEP) is a unique, five-year combined Bachelor's and Master's curriculum that integrates field-intensive programs with a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences. Joanna is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the International Honor Society in History and has been on the Dean's List for each semester. Joanna has an overall grade point index of 3.9.
