Undermanned Warriors Win the Battle
U 11 Warriors remained undefeated this season, but not without a real team effort. Heavy winds and a strong and plentiful Long Beach team tried their hardest to throw havoc into the Warriors plans. With only 8 boys available, the Warriors played with one less player than their opponents and of course, no substitutes, yet they were determined to continue their winning ways, and give Matt Greiner a nice birthday gift as well! Jonathan Morris' hat trick produced the 3 goals the boys needed to achieve this feat and win the hard fought battle 3-2. Great shared goalkeeping by Brogan Mahon and Chris Larkin, along with strong defense by James Walsh, Matt Flynn and birthday boy Matt Greiner and quick offense by Timmy Foxen , Owen Fisher and Jonathan Morris showed that teamwork and determination can defeat all odds. Congratulations boys and now it's on to next week's league game and 3rd round of the Waldbaum's cup. Good luck and keep up the great work.
