New And Expectant Mom Tea

Winthrop-University Hospital is inviting new and expectant moms to a Formal Tea at the Garden City Hotel, located at 45 Seventh Street, Garden City, on Saturday, May 17, 2008, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will feature a panel of distinguished pediatricians who will discuss parenting issues for new moms.

A panel of local pediatricians, Elizabeth Issa-Basch, MD, from Mid-Nassau Pediatrics; Jeffrey Lieberman, MD, of Village Pediatrics; and Behzad Talebian, MD, of University Plaza Pediatrics, will discuss "Keys to Successful Parenting," focussing on issues such as sleeping, developmental milestones, safety, separation, and other important topics for new moms. A question and answer period will be included in the program.

"As a Spirit of Women Hospital, Winthrop is committed to providing support to women in every stage of life, especially during this exciting time of new motherhood. Through this venue, we hope to give first-time moms a break from their busy schedule, while they can learn valuable educational tips about parenting their new bundle of joy," explained Deborah Johnson-Schiff, Senior Vice President of Administration.
