Senior Connections Public Forum On Caregiving

The Garden City Public Library will offer the second in a series of Senior Connections Public Forums - "Elder Law" on Wednesday, April 30th at 1:30 PM. Ellen G. Makofsky, Esq. will speak about the intergenerational issue of protecting your family and your assets. Ms. Makofsky, who is an attorney specializing in elder law, will address a variety of subjects, including leaving assets to heirs and protecting assets from expensive long-term care costs. In addition, she will speak about saving on income taxes and using an IRA to benefit grandchildren.

The public forum will be conducted in the large meeting room on the Library's lower level. An elevator is available. Handouts will be provided and there will be opportunity for open discussion on the issues. Refreshments will be served.

Recognizing the increasing size of the senior population in the community, Senior Connections is holding a series of informative and interesting Public Forums on topics related to life in the senior years. Senior Connections has been operating a variety of programs and services at the Garden City Public Library since 1985 for 23 years. For further information, contact Librarian Martin Bowe at 742-8405.
