GC Renegades Win Tough One
Mr. Dave Katowski President of the Long Island Lizards Lacrosse team talks to the team
Last Friday night the GC Renegades 5th grade team played a new team to the OBLL. Rockville Centre appearing for the first time in the OBLL turned out to be a tough test for the GC Renegades. To make matters worse there was a slight mist in the air and new sod covered the field. Not only were they battling the other team but the elements as well. Players from both teams were slipping and sliding and had to make adjustments to their game. Once those adjustments were made the GC Renegades started to play their game. Many in attendance were impressed by the way the team moved the ball up and down the field. The offense did what they had to do to keep the team ahead. The defense played solid and took the body when needed. The Renegades got the opportunity to use their new man-up play and also the new clear that was put in by coach Radonis. The difference in the game was who wanted it more and on this night the Renegades did coming away with the win and improving their record to 7-2-1. The Renegades got a special visit this week from Mr Dave Katowski President of the Long Island Lizards. Mr Katowski worked with the boys on improving their defense. He showed how important it is to communicate with each other on the field during play. He also explained the im-portance of positioning and the proper footwork. Mr Katowski has promised a return visit.
