GC Girls Lax Beats North Shore 13-5

Photo by Newsphoto.com In a game of two undefeated teams the Garden City Trojans girls varsity lacrosse team traveled to Glen Head to take on the North Shore Vikings on Tuesday afternoon April 15th. Garden City had a 4-3 lead at halftime and went on to outscore North Shore 9-2 in the second half bringing the final score to 13-5. Caroline McTiernan led the Trojans scoring with five goals. Erin Brennan had three goals and six assists for Garden City. Emily Norell scored twice and Shannon Mangini, Becky Lynch and Dayna Defliese scored one goal each. Scoring for North Shore was evenly distributed as Kristen Reynolds, Erin Tornatore, Kaela McGilloway, Heather Magnuson and Devon Comito all scored one goal each. Garden City freshman goalkeeper Erin Mullins made seven saves.
