At the Chamber of Commerce's luncheon program on April 2, in a room filled to capacity at the Garden City Hotel, developer Vincent Polimeni, of Polimeni International, LLC, with power-point presentation by son Michael Polimeni, along with Mayor Jack Martins of Mineola, presented an overview of the proposed Winston 285-unit, nine story luxury condominium planned for the north side of Old Country Road in Mineola between Willis Avenue and Third Street. Positioned at 300 feet from Garden City's border, how might Garden City benefit? According to the project team, there will be an injection of more than $19 million in discretionary spending into the local economy, much of which is expected to find its way into Garden City's downtown.
