My Best Friend Dedicates the FiestA to Steve Florio
Steven T. Florio
This year the Cinco de Mayo FiestA for FA, to be held Saturday May 3rd from 7 - 10pm in the garden of Sean and Anna Miller at 25 Saint Paul's Place in Cathedral Gardens, will be dedicated to the memory of Steven T. Florio. The fiesta's foundation lies in the celebra-tion of the gift of friendship, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to honor our truly special friend Steve.
The first FiestA for FA in 2007 was the brainchild of a group of friends who saw a friend in need and wanted to help. This local group, who became known as "My Best Friend", created a gloriously colorful and festive party that no one wanted to miss. The community came together with them, and helped net over $160,000 for the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. The name "My Best Friend" was inspired by Little Lady Rose, our toy poodle mascot, who offers unconditional love and support to her own best friend.
We count on our friends to celebrate the good times with us and support us during the rough times. In dedicating the FiestA to Steve we remember that he was a friend on whom you could always rely. He had a larger than life personality, with such a hearty hello and mischievous sense of humor. He was a terrifically successful and charismatic businessman who managed a media empire while being a wonderful husband, father and friend. In doing so, Steve made it all look easy and fun. He was lion-hearted in his generosity and thoughtfulness. It can be easy to take good health for granted. Steve took nothing for granted and enjoyed it all. Even when he didn't feel well he never lost his sense of humor and grace. He exem-plified what it means to be a good person and a good friend. We are lucky to have known and loved him.
