Knights Invite Parishioners To Prayer Rally

2008-04-18 / Community

On Tuesday, May 13th, Knights of Columbus members from all over New York State will gather in Albany for their Sixth Annual Albany Prayer Rally. They will assemble on the Capitol steps where they will pray the Rosary and listen to our State Legislators and other prominent speakers, according to Past Grand Knight Bob Guida of "Masgr. John's Knights," Bus Captain for the 17th District.

The Knights will also be sending representatives inside the Capitol to speak with their elected officials to make them aware of our position with regards to issues such as embryonic stem cell research and tuition tax credits for families with children in private schools. Our presence at the event DOES make a difference, and our voice is heard. Please plan to join us. You will be glad you did.

The cost for luxury motor coach transportation, light breakfast before we leave, and a boxed lunch, served enroute back to Long Island, is $0! The day is completely subsidized by the K of C Councils of our District.

Knights and guests will assemble at St Thomas Chapel, located at Nassau Blvd. and Hempstead Ave. in West Hempstead at 7A.M on May 13.. Ample parking is available at this site. After coffee and a light breakfast, we will depart at 7:30AM. We anticipate arriving in Albany around 11A.M. and will stay at the Capitol for about four hours. On the ride back, we will offer a boxed lunch with soda/water, and we anticipate a return time somewhere around 7PM.

Please feel free to invite family members, friends and neighbors who share an interest in the topics noted above to join us and help fill our 54- pasenger luxury bus. As members of the Knights of Columbus, the largest Catholic Fraternal Organization in the world, we wecome your participation in this banner day for New York State Catholics.
