Belmont Festival chairs have announced that the annual celebrations held in honor of the Belmont Stakes will take place on Friday, June 6.

Both festivals will take place on the eve of the 140th running of the Belmont Stakes, which marks the third and final leg of the Triple Crown.

Sponsored by KeySpan and the Garden City Hotel, the Belmont Festival at Garden City will include the Belmont Festival parade, live music, a window decorating contest, a children's poster contest, clowns, street performers and a "taste of Garden City" with local restaurateurs and food vendors lining the avenue.

The Belmont Festival committees are seeking the participation of local companies and organizations wishing to sponsor and/or take part in the events scheduled for Garden City and Floral Park.
